About Ben

Ben originally started with Murray Nankivell back in 1993 as a trainee accountant and during this time completed his Bachelor of Commerce and Certified Practicing Accountants qualification.

In 2000, Ben left Murray Nankivell to take up the position of Chief Financial Officer in a locally run manufacturing business.  Over the next 19 years Ben worked closely with the management team to help grow that business from a workforce of 28 employees at one location locally to over 150 employees spread across 3 locations in 3 different states.

During this time Ben keep abreast of his taxation qualifications, however concentrated more on the cost accounting aspect of running such a complex business.  Cost accounting, job costing, cash flow management, budgeting and margin analysis were all integral components to making the business successful, along with understanding the sometimes complex world of HR including the National Employment Standards, various employment Awards and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements as well as the intricate Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.

When the business was sold it was time to find another chapter in life and with the move to cloud based accounting software Ben felt this was an area he could assist Murray Nankivell and their clients.

Ben is also involved in various community groups around Bordertown and his personal interest involve his family, travel and sport.
