John, previously a Director of Murray Nankivell until 2022, has been involved in the accountancy profession since 1984. His aim is to provide clients with relevant advice in relation to taxation and business management.
His strengths lie in his "whole of business" approach to dealing with clients. His understanding of clients' needs allows him to advise them on how to add value to their financial affairs.
John is experienced in all facets of accounting and has worked with a diverse range of businesses. He assists clients in many industry sectors including primary production, real estate, medical and professional businesses.
Son of local retired farmers Reg and Marg Burgess, he grew up on their farm in Apsley. His farming background provides him with knowledge of the issues and conditions affecting businesses in the South East of South Australia and Western Victoria. Prior to settling in Bordertown he gained experience in audit and business services with one of the Big 4 firms in Mount Gambier and then Brisbane.
John is involved in various community groups in Bordertown and his personal interests are his family and sport.
