Initial Setup

We work with you to determine your current and future needs and then recommend an appropriate way to structure the fund. A SMSF can have up to four members and the members can act as the trustees of the fund or a Corporate Trustee can be established to take on this role.

Once the structure has been determined we then take care of the initial administrative tasks to get the fund up and running. This includes organising the Trust Deed, Tax Office applications, meeting minutes and declarations.

Getting Money into the Fund and Investing

We can assist with setting up bank accounts and rolling over your existing superannuation into your SMSF. You may have insurance inside your existing fund so it's important that you consider your insurance needs before requesting a rollover.

Murray Nankivell Financial Planning can work with you to make sure that you're adequately insured and that your investment mix is appropriate. The rules regarding what assets the fund can own, who it can purchase them from and who can use, rent or lease them can be confusing and advise should be sought.

Annual Regulatory Requirements

SMSFs are required to prepare annual financial reports and lodge a tax return each year. We take care of this for our clients and can recommend ways to best keep track of documents and records. We even offer a mail-house service.

SMSFs are required to be audited each year to ensure that the fund is compliant with the superannuation laws. We have an experienced audit team who thoroughly audit each fund.
